Enquiry details — the name, email, phone, matter summary and any document you upload through the enquiry or AI-check forms

To respond to your enquiry and, if you instruct us, to carry out the work. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

Email address — if you opt in to the occasional practical note

To send you the occasional note you asked for. Lawful basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time using the unsubscribe link in any note.

Analytics data — anonymous usage statistics via Google Analytics (pages viewed, approximate location, device)

To understand how the site is used and improve it. Lawful basis: your consent, collected through the cookie banner. No analytics cookies are set unless you accept.

Cookies

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. This site uses only two kinds. Strictly necessary storage remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked on every page — this is essential and always on. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are set only if you accept in the banner; decline, and none are placed. There are no advertising or third-party tracking cookies on this site.

Changing your mind. You can withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser, which makes the banner appear again. Declining analytics does not affect how the site works.

How it is stored, shared and kept

—Sharing. Your enquiry details are seen by Rhys Johns and are not sold or passed to third parties for marketing. Form submissions and analytics are processed by our website and analytics providers acting on our instructions.
—Retention. Enquiry information is kept only as long as needed to deal with your matter and to meet our professional and regulatory obligations, then securely deleted. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe.
—Security. We take reasonable measures to protect the information you send; no internet transmission is ever perfectly secure, so please do not send anything highly sensitive through the website if you would rather not.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict its use, and to withdraw any consent you have given. To exercise any of these, email info@barraj.co.uk. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk), though we would be glad to try to put things right first.
